First of all I want to say thanks for letting me be a part of your forums.
The next thing I need to say is please bare with me and forgive my stupid questions as i am very new to this high tech stuff.
I purchased my first Treo 700 a few days ago,things seem to be going ok ,I dont use the internet on it at all but I do use the email So I guess because of that I am stuck paying Verizons High price .

A question I have is Do I need to always keep the blue tooth enabled,Im not sure if I am useing it all the time so is it wearing down my battery?
Also should I be keeping a check in the box that says looking for other wireless devices.

I believe the only time I do anything wireless is when i send and recieve my emails.
I do not have that set to do it every so many minutes I just do it as needed.

I do all my syncing by my usb cable and the only thing I sync is my outlook calendar and contacts.
This brings me to my last problem.
I tried several times to download the treo 700 version of avant go and it keeps telling me unable to install ,i looked up the error and tried their suggestion but still no luck.

Well thanks for your time now all I need is youe expertise.

Welcome to the forums - hopefully you find them helpful in your Treo experience!

If you're not using a bluetooth device such as a headset or gps receiver (or are syncing via bluetooth) you don't need to keep bluetooth turned on...it will help your battery life a bit by having it turned off. If you have bluetooth turned off, you shouldn't have to worry about the other checkbox - but you might as well uncheck it.

Are you getting any specific error messages, or is it just saying it can't install?

I would try doing this:

1) redownload the file from avant go
2) soft reset your phone (press the button next to the battery to do this)
3) try to reinstall the software

I'm not sure what else to suggest if that doesn't work.
