I am a new treo user. When my phone rang yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised to hear a synthetic voice announce the caller's name and location. This worked with the first two calls of the day. Suddenly, it stopped. I even had the same 2 people call me back (the people whose names were announced earlier) and it didn't work.
Is there a setting that I may have hit to disable this? I like the feature and want to turn it back on but can't find it anywhere. I did a search and couldn't find an answer.
Thanks in advance.
The speaker on/off switch on the top of the Treo is really easy to slide over to silent, which would stop the voice caller ID. (sorry - you said you were new! )
If that's not it, click 'Start', 'Settings', 'Voice Command' and make sure 'Enabled' is checked. Then, check to make sure 'Phone' is checked in the scrolling list. Highlight 'Phone' and click 'options', make sure 'Announce incoming calls' is checked.
If that's not it, make sure the volume is turned up...
