I will be updating to a Treo 700w in a month or so after using a Palm T3 for the last few years. I was wondering how easy it is to record a voice memo with a Treo 700w, is there a button on the side you can customize to lauch the Voice Recorder? Does it record in decent sound and also sync with a PC?
I have tried to find an easy way to use the voice recorder, but no luck so far. I have asked for advice on other forums and have received no useful answers. You can map the side button to notes, but not to record; I have also tried Power Buttons from Omega One and no success there either. The only way I have found to use the recorder is by using a stylus, which is difficult at best while driving.
It's disappointing after being spoiled by the i730 and several iPAQ devices, I use this feature 10-15 times per day! After a long trip yesterday, I decided I have to go back to a separate device just for voice recordings!
The easiest way I have found to make a voice memo is to create a new email. Select Menu->insert-> Voice Note. I then just send the email to myself. I then can access it from my in box on my phone or from any PC that I download the email to.
