Voicemail Icon display problem - Treo Forums

Hi,I have a small but annoying problem,on my Today menu.The tiny Voicemail Icon that appears over the messaging icon on the Today menu,will not disappear even if I do not have a Voicemail.I have reset my treo,and still have the same problem,even with taking the battery out.The treo will read that I have a voicemail at the exact time I reset it,even though I don't.Any ideas?????

Many here thought the same thing with their brand new Treos including myself . . . . .

That is the shortcut to access your voicemail . . . From the dialer screen, press the #1 and hold it for about 2 secs and it will launch your voicemail. You can assign similar shortcuts for your own favorites. . . .

Edit: My bad . . . I thought I was in the 650 forum . . . Ignore my ignorance . .

Thanks,but I know thats the shortcut,but thats not the problem,the prolbem is it will not go away even when I don't have a voice mail,how can I get rid of it?normally after I delete my voicemails it will go away automatically,now it does not.

have you done a soft-reset on your phone yet? i've occasionally run across that problem, and a soft-reset usually cleared it up for me. one other time i called my phone from another line and left myself a message...logged in, then deleted it and the indicator went away.

Yes have tried soft/and hard reset/reboot ......the icon still stays as if I have a voicemail unfortunatly

Mine does too, I always have a 1 in voice mail. I have tried soft reset and that does not work. I had my wife call and leave me a voice mail and it stayed at 1. So I can not tell if I have a new one or not. Any help.

i actually seem to recall reading somewhere that it could be something on VZW's end (or Sprint - depending on who your provider is). someone said that they had to have VZW reset their voicemail and it cleared it all up. If you make the call, let us know the results.

Hi there-It seems like we've all had the same problem.This is what I did.
1. Found out that if the "1" that you're seeing is on the tab that SAYS voicemal, you're seeing a FAVORITE'S button. The "1" beside the word voicemail lets you know that's the number you press and hold to call VOICEMAIL. Others can be assigned.
2. Once, I needed to go in and reset my voicemail icon. Try this: Go into start menu, choose settings, select PHONE, select SERVICES tab, tap the CLEAR VOICEMAIL ICON tab. When you get bact to the TODAY screen it should be gone.

If I've misunderstood your problem, I apologize. Just wanted to try and help.
