Default Weird error with comcast?

When sending a new message in comcast it always goes to my outbox. I then have to send/receive to actually send the message. This is fine but now when trying to send the message from out box I get this message:

"Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure that you are connected and that your email account settings are correct. Then try again."

I double checked all my settings. Any ideas? Thanks.

I solved (apparently, till something else shows up) a similar problem; create a new account, let the phone automatically set it up with comcast, BUT continue with the 5 steps and (this is the part I dont like) have the phone remember your login (to comcast) info.

delete the previous account.

It worked for me.

Roger,

How did you delete the existing account? I have been told the only way to do it is with a hard reset. When I try to delete an options comcast account (not the Outlook mail folder) the delete option is greyed out and won't activate.

So how'd you do it?????

Craig

these are the key strokes i used;

From the today screen :
upper left button - messaging
- menu
- tools
- options (accounts tab at the bottom) - you should see "text msg" , "MMS" , "new account" , e-mail account you set up , and maybe other stuff.

Then touch and hold the account you want to delete and the option to delete the account comes up. if your account is grayed out at this point , i dont have any idea - I am basically just sort stumbling thru this stuff; you would think all this would be a little more transparent.

Good job, this worked for me too.
But one other question - it is now called POP3. Can that name be changed to Comcast, once Comcast is deleted??

Thanks

you may need to go to your mail and edit and then rename the account there. Just an educated guess.

HMMM, don't know. Mine came up as "comcast", but I believe I deleted my old account before I set up the new Comcast account; you may have gotten POP3 because the phone cant name "comcast2".
