Which Treo - Treo Forums

I am looking into switching over to either a treo or a q. I am leaning towards the treo. I have some questions if someone could please help me.

First off what is the main difference between the 700w and the 700wx?
What would you say are the main selling points for the treo vs. the q. I like the feel of the treo better and the touch screen and what not. I am also going to sign up for hte Sprint Sero program to save some money, but just want to make sure of which treo to get. Please help.

Thanks for joining and let me see if I can help.

First off, the Treo 700wx features more memory than the Treo 700w and I'd advise you stick with the wx if you go that route. The Treo and the Q both run Windows, but different flavors. The Treo runs Windows Mobile PocketPC and features touch screen functionality. The Q runs Windows Mobile Smartphone (no touch screen). Both are technically WM5.

The Q is slim, very customizable and is a great phone. The Treo is a refined smartphone having gone through many years of improvements. It's also a bit more of a "handheld computer" than the Q. The Treo offers document editing "out of the box", but the Q now has document editing using the third party Docs To Go.

Thank you very much. That was helpful. I saw a rumor that a new treo was coming out in May and would be offered through sprint. Does anyone know if there is any truth in this. I may just wait then to switch to the treo. If not the wx looks incredible.

Yes, there is a rumored Palm Treo release for May. It showed up on a Sprint release sheet and was dubbed "Sherlock". Many have speculated it will be a Palm OS based Treo in the Treo 750 form factor, with support for EVDO. It's also rumored to come in a few colors, burgundy being one.
