All, I am sure that this may be old news to most who post here but I just watched an entire movie on my Treo 700w. The movie was ripped from a DVD (one that I legally own even though they say I still shouldn't do that) and I copied it over to a 2GB SD card. It took up about 560MB of space so I should be able to have 3 or so movies on the Treo at any 1 given time. I have no problems stowing 10-20 SD cards in my laptop bag. As you can imagine that it plenty. So now my phone has real-tme access to my emails contacts and calendar, I can watch movies (with a scren bigger that the iPod no less), Internet Access, Games, a passable camera, GPS (with an external blutooth reciever of course), an RDP client for actually working on servers. I know this sounds like a Treo commericial but why would I need anything else?

Does anyone else have any other neat things they have done with the Treo?

That souds great! But what did you use to "shrink" the DVD to get it to 560mb???

I ripped it from the DVD using a software called DVD Ripper Platinum. www.isofter.com. Took a bit of trial and error to get the ripped version to play in full-screen mode though. Still having a problem in that it rips the DVD with the sub-titles on. A minor issue that can probably be resolved with a bit of time.

Legal Disclaimer-I only rip DVDs that I have legally purchased and do not share the ripped files with anyone nor do I rip DVDs from friends or other sources. I suggest evryone do the same.
The picture was crystal clear when displyed on the Treo but same file was fuzzy when played on the laptop. I could have ripped it to a file that would play fine on the laptop as well but it would have been larger and that was not my intent anyway.

Travis:
Can you tell me what is the resolution or any other setting that you have found to work best for converting video to play on the 700wx?

I would like to play them in full screen mode while keeping the aspect ratio.

What if I said you could use your Ipod as a game machine and connect it to an old NES Controller, very cool mod! The the Ipod is cool for video

I use windows media encodr,and it always looks great.I totatly agree,i have watch many movies on my phone.
