Default Windows Media Player sync with Treo 700

My wife has a Samsung a950 Verizon Wireless phone. I connect the phone to computer with USB cable and Windows Media Player sees it as a mobile device and allows me to sync music that I select which sends it to the phone. I connect my Treo 700 with Bluetooth and use Active Sync. It sync's just fine and I have access to the Treo and the Treo storage card using Windows Exployer. But Windows Media Player does not see the attached Treo as a mobile device.

Can you use Windows Media Player to sync your music with Treo or do have do manual move with Windows Explorer? Windows Media Player sayes it will see a new device and create a partnership. Can you have a partnership with Active Sync and Windows Media Player at same time?

I don't know... But, did you try it with the USB cable?

Yes, I use WMP to sync music and it works very well. However, my understanding is that it will only do so via usb, not bluetooth.

Default WMP Problem

I had problems setting up my 700W with WMP 10 too. FIrst, you do need Windows Media Player 10, I don't think it will sync with earlier versions. Beyond that, I had to reinstall both Active Sync 4.1 AND WMP 10. I needed to do this twice before it would work. Now it's doing just fine.

Oh yes, the other problem I had was, I think, with Itunes. For some reason, even with the re installs the Treo 700w wouldn't recognize music transferred to my PC with I tunes. But,the same music coming in from WMP 10 transfers fine. It may have something to do with digital rights management, not sure...

Good luck.

Have you got it hooked up to Activesync via Bluetooth?
