Must have been because I don't remember seeing that when I upgraded. I upgraded on 9/11 and didn't see the triangle or have any connections issues until I landed at san jose. Hadn't been out there in 3 yrs so it maybe something that needs doing (*228) when you travel.

I am assuming that this update will not work with the 700w, guess I am still stuck with WM5 on that.

I read that this update would not work with the 700W but did not see a reason why. My assumption would be that it has to do with smaller RAM available for the upgrade but I would ask Verizon directly before taking my assumption as the final word on it.

The wm6 update was only for the 700wx and only for Verizon customers. Not really sure why. I read an assumption somewhere that Palm offered the update to Verizon because Verizon has such a large stock on the 700wx, and the one way to help get rid of the stock would be to offer the firmware update.

I also found that someone had built a *custom* firmware update for the 650(?) that would allow google maps to triangulate your position. The reason the 700 can't is because the API is locked = phone won't communicate that type of info with multiple towers at the same time and share the info with the third party app. There must be a way to unlock this feature... Anyone???

Is there anyway to flash the phone and get the Verizon load into it?

Excuse me if this ground has been covered before. TIA.

This sure seems like a bait and switch. Are you using this phone on any network yet? If this phone is on Verizon's network now you may be able to get some help from them...maybe. If this phone is not on Verizon yet, there may be more trouble awaiting as they determine the innards that do the communicating belong to another network.

Default WM6 for 700W

I tried downloading but it said my serial number was incorrect. Is it because I only have a 700W and not a 700WX? Geez, I guess I might be stuck with WM5. Doesn't sound right. Anybody out there have any suggestions?

I have a VZW 700w and was able to DL the 1.24 updater using my serial #. My 700w has already been updated to 1.22, so I'm wondering if it will update. Too chicken to try at the moment, though I have a 700wx coming that I will definitely try it on.
