You may need an upgraded sim for 3g sim calling. The emegency mode probably means theres a problem with phone service. Are you on congularly att?
Alernatively when you upgraded from the 650 which is palm os did you follow the directions for upgrading from palm os to windows mobile per the user manual and quick guide? If not your installation is probably a little messed up which would explain some of the issues you are experiencing!

I am a former ATT user, have their unlimited evening weekend plan throughout North America, which I do not intend to ditch. ATT tried to persuade me to upgrade to 3G SIM, but I'd have to switch my plan and I am trying to avoid it.
When I upgraded from 650, I didn't follow any directions whatsoever, bought this T750 from ebay and swapped my SIM over. I am not sure what "upgrading from palm os to windows mobile per the user manual and quick guide" or "your installation is probably a little messed up" means... I have always just popped the SIM out and put it in the new phone. Worked fine with me so far.
I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me what does "upgrading from palm os to windows mobile" means.

well when you had the 650 did you use palm desktop or outlook. Either way you have to follow the directions in thge 750 user guide to migrate data from the palm os into the wm os. If you dont it can cause issues.

I was using outlook to sync my 650, and didn't use user guide to migrate....think I should go back and use it now.

Guess you were right, I used a rogers SIM for a day and did not experience any "emergency call back mode", and it did start showing me recent call list on my green send button........guess I would have to upgrade to a 3G SIM.......I really wish there was a way to keep my existing plan.:frown:
But thank you for those wonderful tips there.

Dude try ebay to find a compatible 3g sim card that might work I dont know. Its worth a shot to keep your plan just tell att that you r 650 cratered and you are buying another one and need a new sim card they will replace the card with a 3g sim card.
I lostmy 650 or at least I could not find it and went to att and bought another one got a 3 g sim card and then found my treo 650 took the other one back and I kept the 3g card when I got the 750 just popped it ih and bam I was up and running.
