    All of the sudden my new 750 is 'talking';
    every 'alert'; every calendar event... it announces in computer voice.
    HOW DO I TURN HER OFF?

    I suspect that you have activated voice command and thats why your 750 is talking to you.

    Start - Settings - Voice Command - make sure "Enabled" box is not checked.
