Default Activesync 4.5 Stopped Working After Applying DST Patch

Hardware: WinXP Pro on work pc Dell 8250, WinXP Home on home laptop, Palm Treo 750, Activesync 4.5, Outlook 2003

History:

(FYI - Outlook 2003 on my work pc and home laptop had previously been kept up to date with each other with my Blackberry 8700 using Blackberry Desktop.)

I have been using Activesync 4.5 at work for several months (since I bought my Treo) without a problem. Daylight Savings Time Patch was installed on work pc approximately 1 month ago (might've already been installed with autoupdate but I manually installed to be sure), but as of last week I hadn't yet installed in on my Treo. I also forgot to install on my home laptop.

Last week I tried set up a new Activesync partnership with my laptop which worked fine until it tried to sync my Notes folder (I typically sync Contacts, Calender, Notes, Tasks, Favorites, the shared folder and a third party prograom called SplashID. It completed about 140 of 187 notes and then the "cannot synchronize" error popped up and AS changed to a "Guest" connection. Noted at that time that several of my recurring all-day appointments showed as multiple days on my Treo due to a one hour time shift (found the fix for that problem on the Microsoft website).

I then tried to sync my Treo at work again and started having intermittent connection errors (i.e. either wouldn't recognize the Treo at all or would find it by not syncronize). So far, however, I could still get the Treo to sync if I connected it more than once. Before I found the above referenced one hour time shift fix, I spent some maddening hours updating appointment times in Outlook only to find them wrong on the Treo and vice-versa.

It was then that I realized that I hadn't installed the DST update on my Treo so I did that and thought the update to effect change automatically. I later found that you actually have to manually change the timezone on your Treo and save the settings and then manually change it back to the correct time zone for the program to work. Crazy.

Now that the DST patch has been sucessfully installed on my work pc, Outlook 2003 on my work pc, AND my Treo, the Activesync program will no longer work. It will NOT recognize my Treo. Or, when it does it will not sync with it. I have deleted the "mobile device" in AS twice and re-installed AS on my work computer four times. Still it doesn't work. The closest thing to a sync I've achieved today is when I re-installed AS and it actually went through the process of "finding new hardware" (the Treo) and starting the sync process, only to get hung up at the Notes folder again. I told in not to sync Notes after that, deleted and re-installed the AS program AGAIN, but now cannot even get it to recognize the Treo.

What the H*!! is going on? Help???!!!
