After 6 months, I have to say that this 750V is absolutely the worst phone I have ever owned. While it has nice features and makes a decent PDA, I simply cannot live with the terrible level of reliability that it provides as a phone.
For the record, I currently have no additional applications installed on this phone and have done 2 hard resets since I've owned it. I commonly pick it up only to find that it crashed an hour ago (as the clock is frozen) or I have missed a call and the phone never rang. I find that it sometimes locks up when it hangs up from a call. Sometimes it rings but I cannot answer it - the talk button is somehow disabled and the phone rings and rings. Callers usually tell me that it takes 2-3 seconds after I answer before they hear my voice. I also find myself answering the phone with a few hellos before I get a response.
This forum seems to be littered with people either having terrible experiences with the 750s or no problems at all. I wonder if it gets back to different h/w or firmware revisions?
I am quite furious at this point as I paid a lot for this phone and it has consistently been absolutely unreliable. You shouldn't have to reset your mobile phone every day!!!!! Palm : Come on guys!!!!!!!
UPDATE:
I upgraded my 750V to WM6 via Vodaphone website about 4 weeks ago and every one of the issues that have been driving me nuts has been addressed. This has been a massive sigh of relief as I was about ready to ditch this phone. Highlights : I haven't had to reset my phone once in that 4 week period. It works properly and reliably as a phone now (no more "hello?" delays, no more ringing but cannot answer issues, etc). The alarm works. Many of the small feature gaps have been address (like not being able to SMS a contact to someone else).
I think the varied experiences in quality noted from different users in this thread may originate from the service provider's modifications to the WM5 and WM6 distributions. I purchased my phone from a small shop in Hong Kong and it carries the Vodaphone logo. Vodaphone offered a patch for WM5 a few months back that was corrected one audio issue but also introduced other problems. I didn't see any other mention of this patch from the other service providers.
If you are using WM5 on a Vodaphone 750V, I highly recommend the free upgrade to WM6 from Vodaphone's website. The URL can be found in another post on this forum.
