Default Backlight & External Power

Recently, whenever I plug my 750 into its power cord, the screen goes blank/ dim. Sometimes I can barely make out the time and so on. If I unplug the cord, and press the power button, it lights back up.
This is a problem because when my battery is low, I would sometimes plug in the power cord and finish my work as it charged. Plus, anytime I got a message or email, I could easily check it.

As far as solutions, I've tried doing a soft-reset, as it seems to be a cure-all for many issues. But that hasn't worked. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

UPDATE: Now it stays blank/ dim. I've soft reset, removed the battery. I get no light at all now, except for the keyboard.

have you checked your settings for power backlight and brightness?

Checking those settings was the first thing I did. I did a couple soft-resets and things stayed the same. I turned it off and let it sit for a half hour and when I came back, nothing came on.

I eventually had to do a hard-reset and all is working again. I just hope it doesn't happen again. It's quite nerve-racking to have to hard-reset, and then reinstall and restore all my settings.

Still, the key here is, I'm still a Happy Treo Owner.

Always a good policy to do a backup prior to loading any unfamiliar apps (since they may screw something up), or after you tweak your device and get it the way you want (so you can restore).

Hard reset + a few minutes to load a backup beats the heck out of reloading each thing from scratch.

Glad you got it working.
