BAcklight has gone out on 750

Hi I have a Treo 750 for a while, firstly it couldnt deal with sound and so I sent it back and that was repaired. Now the backlight is out so I cant see the screen however the phone seems to work and everything else is fine.

I have two questions, I was going tosend it back to Palm in the UK if possible so wondered if anyone had an address or secondly is it possible to fix this myself? I see people talk about soft and hard resets, would that work and if so how is it done!

resets are covered in the manual. Are you running wm5 or wm6? There were audio issues in 5 that the upgrade to 6 cured. Soft reset is performed by using the stylus point to press the reset button located slightly umnderneath the sd card slot under the cover on the right side of the device.

Hard reset press and hold the red power/end button and continue then press and hold the reset button (see above) untiol the erase all data ? prompt appears press the up arrow on the 5 way button to confirm hard reset Once the reset is finsihed (the progress bar will be full) the device will reset. Upgrades to the rom will be saved and programs in rom will be there data will not be So its important to havre backed up the device before you do a hard reset. It came with sprite backup on the original installation disc. Once you do a sync the data will be restored from your hard drive. Any 3rd party programs on the device would have to be reloaded.
