Default Bad feeling on an upgrade...

I returned my Treo 750 from WM6 to WM5 (don't ask why) and was in the process of re-applying the WM6 upgrade when at about 66%, horror of horrors, the laptop I was working on went into standyby. Now the phone will only go to the bootloader; even a hard reset results in the bootloader, I would imagine because there is no OS to reset to.

Is my fear of a bricked phone correct or do I still have hope? I have tried a couple of different image files on an SD card with no success so far.

If anyone can offer any help I would be eternally grateful! Please!

Anyone out there have any thoughts on or experience with this matter?

If the laptop is operational and you still have the 5X/6X file and you can get to the bootloader screen - can you not try for another exciting retry? As for the SD card, if you are at the bootloader and have the appropriate file on the SD card, you should be able to flash that way - though it has been a long, long time since I have done a ROM upgrade (though I have never had a problem doing it via the SD card) - is the SD card set up properly?

Benjie,

I do still have the laptop but without being able to boot into WM I can't get an ActiveSync connection established. I have a properly formatted SD card with the CHEEIMG.nbh file on it for WM5 but the bootloader does not seem able to recognize the file. All that happens is it sits on the bootloader screen indefinitely. I have also tried with a WM6 file to no avail.

This is particularly upsetting as I have been trying to get this phone restored for a while and was finally able to trick the Windows updater app to believe the phone needed the upgrade.
