battery question
ok , i have a treo 750 with the 1600 mah Seidio Extended battery and its very good believe me but i'm looking over at the treo 755p (sprint) and see that the Extended Battery from Seidio is 2200 mah ! now i read that this battery ISN'T compatible with the 750/680 but my question is : why ? or even if anyone has tried anyway ... i mean i'm just not realizing as to why it fits the 755p with essentially the same battery connectors and general shape but not the 750/680 models. anyone care to share some light to this is more than welcome.

I was asking seidio why the 755 battery they had would not work with the 750 and they told me the dimenssions are a little different and the battery compartment on the 755 was not the same dimensions as the battery co mpartment on the 750. I asked them if they were going to come out with a higher capacity battery that would fit in the 750 battery compartment wiythout going humpback and they said it was in the works. I was hoping when it came out it would be at least 1800 to 2000 but no such luck.

The battery compartments are NOT the same size. It's the depth that's the issue. The width and height are the same. Thus, the largest STOCK SIZED battery for the 750 is only 1600mah.
Although, I can tell you that after having used the hump back pack myself, it's really not as much of a hindrance as I thought it would be.

Well I haven't really had a need to get the humpback battery and I have not yet broken down and spent the 49.99 for the 1600 mah battery. I may at some point but I'. still hlolding out for a cheaper price or a same size 1800 to 2000 mah battery. The way I keep it charged while I am the the office and at home and with a usb battery charger for the car battery life really is not an issue for me.

Are there any general settings I can do to make my battery last longer? I never surf the web. I only use my Treo for phone and corporate Outlook email.

The corporate mail is going to be the biggest drain as it will account for the majority of radio activity (unless you're a big talker).
If you operate in a 3G area, you can save some juice by locking your band to GPRS. This will slow your email download slightly, but you won't really notice it unless you're pulling down an attachment.
Only downside to GPRS (besides the slower speed) is that you can't do data and voice simultaneously. So you have to get off the call before you can send or check for new mail.
Other things you might do:
Avoid vibe alerts, except when necessary
Lower the screen brightness
I use mine about like you and can normally get through the day on a single charge of the stock battery while running 3G radio.
However, I always keep a cable in my bag and my car to top off if I get low.
