Default Benefits of WM6 over WM5

I just picked up a used Treo 750v with the Vodafone branding although I've unlocked it to use T-Mobile. Everything works great, except the battery life isn't particularly inspiring.

So to the point. I was on the phone to Palm when setting up the phone and asked whether it is worthwhile upgrading to Windows Mobile 6 and what the main differences are. Unfortunately the Palm helpdesk guy wasn't very helpful and said simply "well it's up to you, it's like saying what's the difference between XP and Vista, which do you prefer".

So, does anyone have any opinions. Is it worth trying upgrading or should I stick with WM5?

Thanks for your advice.

Andy

Power managent seems to be better under WM6, resulting in better battery life.

Full 3G compatibility with HSDPA for broadband data speeds.

Internet Sharing makes it simple to tether a PC and use the Treo for surfing.

OS is more stable and smoother in general.

Interface improved in several areas.

Personally, after I got WM6 I never looked back.

I've got an unlocked Cingular Treo 750. Would I be able to upgrade to WM6? If I upgrade will I need to unlock the phone again?

Upgrading should not affect an unlock. However, if your Treo was branded prior to being unlocked (like Cingular for instance), you'll either need to load the version of WM6 for that carrier, or load the UNBRANDED ROM that's been modified to load on branded devices.

PM me if you need links to the unbranded ROM and make sure you let me know what your branding is.
