bluetooth error message

I just got my 750 and I love it! Unfortunately, I cannot get the bluetooth to turn on at all on the phone. I have the windows mobile installed and I have followed all the directions. When I check the boxes in the settings menu, they won't stay checked at all. The phone searches and gives me an error message that says "problem with bluetooth hardware". I even tried a hard reset since someone on here suggested that, but it didn't work. I searched through several forums and found others with the same problem, but I haven't come across the solution yet.
I'd appreciate any help you can give- I'm very new to all this.

Just to clarify, are you getting the "problem with bluetooth hardware" message when you check the box to turn it on, or when you try to search for and pair with devices?

I cannot check the box at all. It unchecks when I leave the screen.
The error message appears when I try to find and pair with other devices.

If a hard reset did not clear it, the only other thing that may _possibly_ work would be to reload the ROM.

It sounds like it could be hardware though. Since you just got it, perhaps you can exchange for another one?

How do I reload the ROM... remember, newbie!!
I did just get it, but I got it second- hand, it is not brand new.
