Default Bluetooth for Hearing Aid Wearer

    Opinions needed!

Does anyone have a recommendation on what kind of bluetooth headset to buy if I wear in-the-ear (ITE) hearing aids? I cannot use a headset that has anything that is inserted into the ear as I have to wear the headset while wearing my hearing aids.

I have looked all over and there are headsets that do not have anything that inserts into the ear canal, but most online outlets don't have enough pictures to adequately judge if there is something that protrudes into the ear canal...know wadda mean??

    Thanks in advance...

Greetings! I am going to be investing in several bluetooth headsets in the coming weeks and I will report on their performance relative to HEARING AID wearers...there are plenty of rate and reviews on these headsets, but from what I can see in my investigation, VERY LITTLE regarding performance for hearing aid wearers (of which I am - bilateral hearing loss and I wear in-the-ear, or ITE, "power aids").

    Stay tuned!!

I wear ITE hearing aids and I am using the Motorola H700 and it seems to be fine. I normally only use BT when driving, and I don't usually wear my aids then, but I tried it with the H700 and it was fine.

I have to wear mine when driving and I drive a convertible...so the road noise overwhelms the folks I am talking to.

I've tried the H700 and it didn't cancel out enough of the noise and I got a lot of feedback when not connected to a call. I have tried the MS850 and of all of them I have tried, so far, it's the best...although the road noise and feedback issue remains.

I have tried the H3 as well...not worth the $$$ I spent on it.

I have tried two stereo headphones/headsets as well (Anycom and Jabra) - Anycom's sucketh royal (SORRY!) and the Jabra is an awkward fit over my hearing aids and it keeps punching the program buttons on my hearing aids and changing programs...

NONE of these are loud enough without my aids...

Stay tuned for more! I ordered the new Cardo Scala 700 and I'll try it next.

Got the Jabra BT800 today and so far it's the best of the lot! Still waiting for the Cardo to be delivered from an eBay seller. When all of the facts are in, I'll post more details on these.

I don't think many folks care, but I am on a campaign to improve my hearing on my mobile!

I don't know how good this is, but its supposed to have some sort of new technology that cancels noise. A lot of it might be hype I don't know. Right now its exclusive to Cingular . . I can't tell how much the ear piece sticks into the canal on this straight on picture . .

    Default Hearing aids and Bluetooth

I also wear 2 hearing aids. I have the Phonak digital aids and I have the wrist watch controller for my hearing aids. Phonak has bluetooth enabled hearing aids just out. I am scheduled to get new hearing aids this year, not till June but I will be getting the bluetooth option. I have the FM option now and it works fine but it is limited. I have been wearing the Phonak hearing aids for 3 years now and I like them the best of all the hearing aids that I have had over the past 12 years. They also have a key faub which is a lot cheaper than the wrist watch option to change the programing on the hearing aids. I control volume up -- down 4 different programs and FM/FM+M all from my watch.
I have the Jabra BT620s and I have been wearing them on and off since Christmas. Because I don't have buttons on my hearing aids these work well but I don't know if I will be keeping them. I have 30 days to decide. They work well with my Treo and my laptop but I look like Shrek with them on. :laugh3:
I will post when I get my new aids on how good or bad they work with my Treo. I think this is a huge jump in hearing technology that a lot of people are looking forward to.

    Default Curious of your findings

I've been looking and looking.......and looking for a headset that I can use with my ITE hearing aids. I don't understand why no one in this industry has addressed this. I don't want a bluetooth hearing aid either. The thought of the signaling always being on.......I do wear my aids all the time otherwise it would be far easier to pick a headset.

Thinking about picking up the BT800. I had the Scala 500 which worked well but didn't fit that great and did make the aids whistle at times. I lost that headset and decided to get the Scala 700. Its terrible with my phone (Treo 700w). So im looking for another. The BT800 looks to have the smoothest earpiece without much and a protrusion into the ear. The JX10 looks nice and may sit flush with my aid but does an ear piece that sticks out. The Scala 500 also had an ear piece that stuck out that was OK but it was at an angle so Im thinking the JX10 may be a little better.

My first headset was a Logitech traveller which was ok as well. It did sit well on the aid itself but was loose on the ear and the sound qouality was quite poor.

    Looking forward to your results....

    Thanks
    soren

What about the Nokia BH 900. The sliding boom mic seems like it would be a good fit.
My friend has cochlear implants and I am trying to find a good headset for her.
