'Bout ready to trash my 750!
This crazy thing is not making me happy! Luckily, I can upgrade in July - if I can last that long - to something else! I loved this phone when I got it, but it is simply doing too many stupid things. Here's a short list...
1) I will attempt to answer an incoming call. The buttons are dead - all of 'em. I have to soft boot to get back in operation. (About 3-4 times/week). Obviously, I miss the call.
2) I will answer, but the calling party can't hear me. I have to soft boot to get back in operation. (About once/week). Again, I miss the call.
3) I call 411 for information, but instead of 411, I call someone in my Contacts with a corresponding sequence of letters in their name. (Every time, unless I open the Dial Pad).
4) I have the keyboard locked, but when I pull the phone from my pocket, it has a zillion "p"s or "a"s or whatever in the Lookup Field - and there isn't a "Blank the Lookup Field" function that I'm aware of. I have to backspace all the way to clean the field. (Daily)
5) I attempt to make a call, and the speed dial just fills the Lookup Field instead of dialing. I have to soft boot to get back in operation. (About twice/week)
That's all I can remember right now, but those are very irritating, to say the least, because they always happen (of course!) when I want/need to use the phone.
Thanks for letting me vent - I doubt there is a solution.
BTW, I am using the AT&T WM6 upgrade.

Have you tried doing a hard reset?
How long has this been going on? Was it doing it prior to the WM6 upgrade as well?

No and no... It didn't start right after the upgrade - it just seems to have developed those bad habits in the last few months.
I have removed all the launchers that I tried and run it pretty much vanilla.
I used to love this phone!

Many programs don't uninstall clean and can leave behind a mess that can affect operation.
If it was running clean after the upgrade, then I would do a hard reset. Afterwards install only the software you use and trust then run a backup to keep as a baseline in case you need to wipe it in the future.
You may even want to go to the extreme of running Palm's device reset app (see the download page for the 750). It cleans up traces of stuff even a hard reset can leave behind.

I'll try a hard reset, then see how it goes over the next several days...
Thanks.
