calculator on the today screen

Is there a way to put the calculator on the today screen? Or have some type of shortcut for it?

Also, what is the today timeout function on the today screen options page? It gives you the option to pick from 1 to 12 hours. what is that all about?

If you want to put shortcuts on the today screen, you'll need some sort of shell application. You could just map one of your programmable hardware buttons to the app instead, if you use it that much.

Start>Settings>Buttons

As for the Today timeout, I would guess it's what it sounds like. How long an idle today screen would be displayed before it times out and goes to sleep. Your screen and backlight settings are probably much shorter which means that it would really only apply if you had it docked and set to stay awake while on external power. Again, just a guess. Never really played with it.
