Default Cant here yourself/others on both ends of phone call using treo 750!!! HELP@!

when i make / receive a phone call and I/other person answer and the phones connect it shows the time of the call duration and shows that we are talking BUT- i do not here them or myself and the person i am talking to cannot hear me or theirselves. Eventually you just have to hang up cause u cant communicate. speakerphone does not help, i have all features disabled ( bluetooth, handsfree, exc exc). everything else on the phone functions normally ( anything that uses volume and sounds). i can send/ receive text messages so my sim Iv switched sim cards with other friends and the same problem persists.

Would the phone by chance running on a diff gsm band than the card im using??? anything will help, i hate not being able to talk on the phone.

Have you tried doing a soft reset? Do you have any 3rd party apps installed? What about Voice Command, is it turned on?

Voice command is off. i did press the " reset" button by the sd slot with no luck. I dont THINK there are any third party apps. i believe the phone is stock. One thing i just discovered is that i CAN USE the headset! using the headset i can get calls and hear clearly and contact others. Im beginning to think that the speaker is out, both the "ear" speaker and the speakerphone itself. I DL a song onto the phone and it will not play the song over the speakers but will play it through the handsfree earpiece.

What do you mean by "I don't think there are any third party apps"? Did you get this device from someone else? Have you not installed anything?
Sounds like there is a hardware failure and you need to return it and get a replacement. Have you tried doing a hard reset?

U are correct, i received the phone from my uncle who switchedfrom cingular to sprint. he couldnt use the phone so he sold it to me. It worked fine for several days then this problem started up. Im not familiar with soft/hard resets. ill look up and find out how to do a hard reset nd try that. The phone does not have insurance so im not sure if i can get a replacement or not, ill look more into that.

If he bought it from Cingular they should replace the phone if defective I think for up to a year.

Yes I have to imagine that you probably are still within the 30 day return period for a replacement. Either way they will replace it but a believe after 30 days you may not see a new one but rather a refurb.

I wonder is it possible that the 750 is having problems with the jack like the 650 and while the headset out the phone thinks its still in. If so you could try the tricks for the 650 which is plug and plug out several times and that could getthe jjack working properly. Otherwise take it to the cingular store and get them to check it out.

I had the same issue when I first started working with the Treo 750 review unit. I was ready to send it back, when I thought it might be worth it to try a hard reset. (take some of my own advice) That solved the problem and I had not troubles whatsoever after that.
