can't sync
Hi,
I am having trouble syncing. I created a simple excel file on my pda and want to transfer the file onto my desktop and open it. I hit the active sync button and double click files but it never opens it. This is what the directions say to do. It says opening settings but never does. I have to ctrl, alt, delete to close it out.
What are simple steps to creating a file on my computer or palm and transferring it to the other?

Assuming you have established a sync relationship, just connect your device. When activesync opens up on the PC, click the "explore" button. This will let you browse files on your phone. Just grab the file you want and drag it to your desktop (or wherever you want it). Once it's on your computer you can open it. To put it back on your phone, just drag it back to the ActiveSync Explore window.
If you have NOT established a sync relationship (or don't want to), you can still do this. After connecting the Treo, ActiveSync will pop up on the PC prompting you to establish a sync relationship. At this point you can just click "CANCEL" and instead of syncing, you will be connected in "guest" mode. This will still let you install programs and move files. Just click Explore like I described above and you can still move your files back and forth.
