Can't Sync Contacts??
Hi,
I am a new Palm 750 user and am attempting to sync my contacts from Outlook. It does not give even give me the option to check the contacts box on my Treo. I have deleted the active sync relationship and re-connected and it still did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? If using basic email program that comes with Windows2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista, then you are using Outlook Express and the contact list will not sync as it is not supported with Outlook Express. You must have a copy of Windows Outlook that comes as a seperate product or part of MicroSoft Office.

I'm not sure about Thunderbird, but it does with Entourage in Linux. You just have to use a third party program, Missing Sync, to get it to work. Missing Sync can be found HERE. I've got a Linux laptop that I'm setting up to sync too, because I'm too cheap to pay for a copy of Outlook since my company uses LotusNotes for its email.

I'm having issues trying to sync my contacts from my old Palm Treo 650 (on palm OS) to my new Treo 750 (om Windows Mobile). Is there any way that this can be done? I've even tried beaming the contact list and sending via bluetooth...it simply will not work for me.

Haven't used Palm OS before. If the older Palm OS device can sync contacts with outlook (or if can import to outlook) then you should be good.
Palm and Windows Mobile beaming protocols are different. There is software to enable compatibility.
This link may interest you. Software for beaming compatibility or migration from Pam OS to WM.

http://www.thoracic.org/sections/car...uary-2006.html THANKS! Although I'd love to be cheap and have to pay for this, anything that would 'make peace' between my two devices would be great!
As an update, I was able to send via bluetooth each contact rather than the whole group. Very tedious, as I have have several hundred contacts. Also, it filed my comments/notes on each contact in strange places, in some cases removing lengthy comments.
From your link, it looks like BeamPRO might be the best bet for me, although I will have to research the 'multiple limitations' associated with it.
Thanks again, and I'll keep all updated.

thunderhawk were you using palm desktop on the 650 or ioutlook? If Outlook yoou should have had no problem migrating date including conta cts wbeteen the 650 snd 750. In your getting started booklet that came with the 750 there was a section on migrating from a palm os device to windows mobile. If you dont have it the info is on the palm website. It should be able to walk you through either scenario.

I was using the palm desktop instead of the outlook. I know, I know, Outlook is a much more comprehensive program. But, I have been using one form of palm or another for the past 13 years, so I kinda get stuck with all of my information being in Palm...and never looked around to see what else was out there. Of course, I have all of my corporate contacts on my office PC, but I really never use that since I travel so extensively and find it much easier to flip open the laptop.
When the 750 first came in the mail from ATT, I saw that section in the getting started guide. It directed me to the Palm site, but seemed geared toward data migration from previous windows mobile device to this windows mobile device. I was rushing to pack, so now that I've calmed down a bit, I'll go back and look again.
Thanks!
