Change the behavior of Power Off/Cancel button

When I press Power Off/Cancel button (red, the right one) my Treo exits (minimalize) currently active application and goes back to Start/Today screen. When I press Power Off second one - it turns off the backlight. Also: when the screen is powered off and I press Accept (green, the left one) button, last active application is minimalized and phone jumps to Start/Today screen. Is there any way to change this behavior? I want to set it like that:

Power Off button - to just power off backlight and leave an active application
Accept button - to power on backlight and leave an active application (without jumping to Start/Today screen)

I have checked the Settings menu and I cannot found an option to change the behavior of those buttons Maybe you know how to do it :D ?

BTW: I have Windows Mobile 6 installed on my Treo.

Not sure but I think the default behavior is built in the rom ie no change except for a reflash of the rom.
