Cingular 750 vs Sprint 700wx
just wanted to get everyones opinion. I was considering getting the Treo 750 for the main reason that it works everywhere in the world and its the sleekest looking treo yet . But the Voice and Data plans are so damn expensive. $59.99 for 900 minutes and $39.99 for unlimited data plus basic text messaging is 4.99 that would be about $120 a month after tax.. Sprint has the 700wx and similar Rate anda Data plans only come out to about $60 a month after tax.. Can any give some advice if the 700wx is a good phone for those of you who have it.. Or is the Treo 750 a better one to get?

The form factor of the Treo 750 is very nice, a major improvement over the 700w/wx. The finish is rubberized and feels more natural than the previous line and the curved back makes it feel much smaller. If you use SMS regularly, the 750 also features threaded SMS or "chat style" SMS. This can be added on the 700wx, but it's not standard. Sprint has always been a better option price wise with regard to data plans. If it were hardware alone, I'd say 750, but you have to consider the monthly cost.

thats the reason why im passing on the 750 cuz cingular's prices are ridiculous. I want it anyway and i have been a sprint customer for like 2 weeks and the reception sucks almost everywhere even at my house. I cant even send picture messages now cuz im roaming at home. One more week of this mess and i might just have to cancel this service and get the 750 anyway.

I hear you on the sprint coverage its lousy here in Arkansas too. Thats why i'm with cingular. I'm on the fence with the 750 and WM and those darn pickets are starting to poke a lot. I need to get off the fence but just cant decide active sync makes me nervous.

Looking at service I look at coverage (home and work), then the price of the plans. I have never considered a carrier because it carries a new phone. What good is a phone if you can't use it?

i figured since this is atlanta and not a small town that any major carrier would have a clear signal in the city limits and not the outskirts. One thing about cingular i had good reception even on lil basic phones with no camera.

well are you stuck with sprint or can you turn it back in and go back to cingular or i guess today is ATT Wireless.

naw im cancelling my contract tomorrow because it hasnt been 30 days yet. Im gonna be outta a phone for like a month but i dont care because i didnt have one b4 that for about 6 months. My first bill with sprint is $30 and some change but who cares how cheap it is if the service is crappy. my phone might have four bars on it then when i get on the slow internet it goes down to one then freezes and kicks me off the internet and says no service then goes back to four bars again. The OS on sprints razr is so slow. I'll press a button and actually count to see how long it takes the phone to respond. The bad thing is i just got my girlfriend to buy a phone with sprint too and she is suppose to be getting her phone in the mail tomorrow and i told her im not sticking with them tonight and she called my stupid :tounge: . So sprint just lost 2 new customers.

Well sorry for problems but at least you can get out of the contract.. I have friends here in Fort Smith population about 80K and you cant even drive from one side of the city to the other without dropping calls and that was before wireless internet came into play. I dont think its much better now. As far as your girlfriend calling you stupid well things like that are sometimes part of a relationship. I've been married almost 29 years and and I've been called that several times myself. Life goes on live and learn.
