Default Cingular And Treo 750

I have a client that owns a Cingular authorized dealership who tells me that the Treo 750 for Cingular is $550.00 with a 1 year contract and $499.00 with a 2 year contract. I am also told with the purchase of a monthly data plan you get a $50.00 rebate and that these until are available.

Doe this sound right to anyone out there... From what I have read in these boards and online suggest the 750 is not available yet.

Cingular doesn't announce release dates like Sprint/Verizon does, but rumors are pretty strong that the 750 is coming to Cingular . . Not before early 07 according to the rumors. As far as pricing, I can't speak whether thats right or not, but I would think it would be reasonable. If you wanted, you might be able to pull up vodaphone's web site, and see what they are selling the 750v for, and convert those pounds to $. That might give you an idea of whether those prices are in the ball park or not . . But your client should have more concrete info than what I have . . And that is reading sites such as this one and engadget, mobilitytoday, etc.. .

it just does not sounds right.... it seems more expensive than when I purchased my 650 without a contract. I was also told that "there are many available as they are not selling due to the high price." I am inclined to believe I received misinformation.

Authorized agents have a tendency to inflat the prices of their equipment as compared to company owned retail locations. The Treo 750 has not yet been released for Cingular. Pricing usuallly does include a rebate for taking the unlimited data package. Not sure on pricing but usually the outright price is around $499.99 with contract pricing being $100 to $150 less depending on one or two year contracts.

"Not before early 07 according to rumors..." actually most rumors indicate that the 750 will be out this month or early next month........especially since the treo 750 is now found on the Cingular rebate form which is only valid through Nov. 5 - Dec. 30 2006. Just thought I'd let you know..........

Here is the link for the Cingular Rebate Form
(I found the rebate form on TC forums)

I am all for Cingular getting new treos!! Believe me, I am! But lets put a few things in perspective . . Their own presentation said the 680 would release today . . . . I know the day isn't over yet, but its not neither on their personal or their biz site . . . .

The 8125 appeared on Cingular's website as a rebate form last november, AND that one expired before they released it . . . . (about the 3rd week of Jan, I believe) I am just trying to stress, that with Cingular, you can get it there when it shows up . . Again, they don't release drop dead dates for Cell phones like Sprint/Verizon. So don't be surprised if its early January . . . . . or mid Feb, or late March . .

Edit: I went back and checked . . The 8125 was to be released in November, and wasn't released until Late Feb of this year. I was thinking late January . .

Didnt know that info on the 8125........all i know is I talked to my rep (who I admit isnt that reliable) but other people have talked to their reps and they all say about the same thing that it should be in stores around thanksgiving......but then again I remember reading that the phone is having some testing problems with cingular's firmware so i dont know how long that will push it back............

i just find it hard to believe that cingular would put the 750 on their newest rebate form that expires at the end of the year but yet woulndt release it until january or even march............

(im not tryin to get in an argument here im just trying to stay real optimistic about the release date for this phone b/c im really lookin forward to it)

TheTreo 680 and 750 are slated to be out this month. I believe the 680 will go for $199.99 with 2 year csa and the 750 is $299.99 (not posative). Both are after rebate. They are also launching the Pearl and 8525 this month.

Hey, I am not wanting to argue either, and sorry if it sounded like I was coming at you! Believe me, I am a long Cingular customer and I WANT new Treos. But I have followed their releases in the past, and please take my word when I say, that a rebate form on their web site means absolutely nothing! The 8125 being the biggest example. They also had ringtone selections for the 8125 when it wasn't available. From what I have been reading, Cingular is getting ready to release the Treo 680, the 750, and the 8525 PDA's. Engadget reported that both the 680 and the 8525 were ready to release. Then they posted the presentation of 680 with a Release date of TODAY! Not there yet, because I just checked! If it appears tomorrow, I will celebrate! I want to be optimistic, I really do! But I have watched too much history with Cingular to be totally positive!
If I am wrong, I will state it here for all the world to see. I still say, we will be lucky to see the 750 this year . . . . .
