Default Constantly freezing - "Programs Not Responding"

I have owned the Palm 750 for about a year now. I have been through a few of them already.

Early on I was having tons of problems with the memory card not being read. It would be in the phone, but unless I jammed it in there, it wouldn't read it. I think that problem has been resolved though, thankfully.

My current problem has been going on for about a month now. It's pretty annoying. I probably have to restart (By either removing and re-inserting the battery or pressing that 'Reset' button next to where you insert the memory card) the phone 10-15 times every day because it CONSTANTLY freezes up on me: Emails, Text Messages, Incoming Calls, Task Bar, etc. (Side note about the Text Messages: If I start the text message with the letter 'w' (Ex: Where are you?), it automatically freezes and I can't type anything, the 'w' doesn't even show up.)

Right now my memory reads like this: (No programs are currently up and running)

    Main:
---Storage: Total (57.69 MB) In use (45.72 MB) Free (11.97 MB)
---Program: Total (48.67 MB) In Use (21.71 MB) Free (26.96 MB)

    Storage Card:
---Total (7782.50 MB) In Use (38.66 MB) Free (7743.84 MB)

Has anyone ever run into this problem?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much, in advance, for your time and replies.

Your device memory bites. Really bites. May I suggest an application such as MemMaid. After reading the document file (yeah really), take a look at the clean features it offers and enhanced memory changes it is capable of performing. It really sounds like it is just plain outta main memory due to cache, attachments and other nasty animals running wild.

    Thank you for your reply.

So, if my device memory is all clogged up and I have a TON of unused memory on my memory card...is there a way to have the cache, attachments, etc. be directly saved onto my card rather than my device when I am operating those programs?

    Also...

I took out the storage card, then synced the phone up. I deleted everything under the sun that wasn't necessary - photos, programs, etc.

Now my device reads like this:

    Memory (With no programs running.)

    Main:
---Storage: Total (57.69) In Use (37.20) Free (20.49)
---Program: Total (48.67) In Use (25.60) Free (23.07)

Goodness. Did you try MemMaid or SKTools? My rule of finger (or thumb) is to install as many applications as possible on the card, which is most and in the application configuration, if there are any indications of its ability to read from the card (cache/data, et cetera), then set it to do just that. The same with browsers. Memmaid/SKTools and similar applications make changes to the registry to do just that.

Pictures, videos, similar items => the card. In fact, all documents and pictures on my devices have always been on the card. Hence I do not have to worry about loosing anything should the device die on me; the only thing lost is what was not saved and I always manually save ever few minutes (I do lots of data collection).

I just deleted ALL of my emails and ALL of my text messages and now I have some more Main storage and Main program memory.

I am going to try the MemMaid now...

Also...for some reason, still, when the first letter of a text message is 'w' and so therefore I try and type 'w' it freezes up.

    Thanks again.

    Quick question about MemMaid:

Do I want to save it on my phone or on my storage card?

    Thanks.

I saved it to my storage card...

    Now:

Which things should I NOT clean?

Can I clean out ALL the cache (Opera, etc.)?

Well - I have it up and running, MemMaid.

I have changed the applications so that they save onto my storage card, have run a few scans to clear up some memory, etc.

This is how my phone reads now...

Main Memory (With no programs running)

---Storage: Total (57.69) In Use (28.26) Free (29.43)
---Program: Total (48.67) In Use (20.26) Free (28.05)

    So...I am making some progress.

This may be a silly question but, can I move the 'Windows' folder that is saved on my phone and store it on my Memory Card? Seems like it is a lot of memory.

No, you cannot move the Windows folder to the card. I have it set on my device to clean everything.
