Contacts Take Forever to Look Up

Hi - I was a longstanding user of past Treos, and just switched from the 650 to the 750. Now, it takes forever to look up contacts. For instance, if I enter a name in contacts, what took less than a second in the Treo 650 now takes 10 to 20 seconds! The same is true when I enter a name in email. This makes the Treo 750 a real productivity-killer, and if I can't solve this I am about to return it.

Do you know a solution for this problem?

welcome to ET bentreo! How many contacts are in your contacts list? I have about 300 personal and business and it doews not take me that long to find who I need maybe a couple of seconds! What other programs if any have you added? Have you deleted your temporary internet files if you are using the internet It sounds like you need your memory cleared out. Try that an see what happens toi your speed it should come back. Also you may havee a lot of other programs open in the background that are taking up memory remember the x doesnt close programs like the desktop unless you have an add on that adds that feature.

Actually, I'm not using the internet - just phone and email. All other programs are closed. I'm a regular user of Outlook, and have about 3,000 contacts (about average for my company, fyi). Never an issue in past Treos though.

Well if I was to hazard a guess I would say thats whats caausing the lag time having to load or search that large of a database is going to take some timeto go through. Maybe theres some way to break it up into groups that could be searched more rapidly. I will do some research.
