    If you are in a weak UMTS area, that can play a role also in the delay as the phone switches bwtn EDGE and UMTS signals...

    maybe thats why I/m not experiencing it I dont have UMTS at all. Lucky me ???

    Somewhat, the phone doesn't waste battery power switching back and forth btwn EDGE and UMTS.
    You do go somewhat slower getting data, which unlike a BB, it is processed thru Cingular/AT&T servers versus BIS/BES...

    This is not going to be any help other than to say there is a solution.

    I had the same problem, found the answer I think on Palm European site in forum.

    Basically it is something u enable, then as a consequence u get a delay. So I "unabled" and I got my functionality back.

    Can I remember the box I unticked, nada. Sorry
