ESN numbers are hard-coded into the hardware, there's no way to change it.

If you want to use it on MetroPCS, give them a call. They should be able to guide you on how to get a PRL update and all sort of goodies like that to convert your phone to their network.

I must respecfully disagree. Again, I'm no ESN expert, but the few links I followed on the subject indicated several people have successfully changed their ESNs.

I would also suggest posting in the forum specific to your device and checking at XDA-developers as well.

But changing it could potentially cause a conflict with another customer. Bottom line...if it's a CDMA device, just keep it on the network it is branded to.

If the ESN you are changing it to is from another device you just bought for that purpose, how could it possibly conflict? Just make sure you only have one turned on at a time.

That was kind of the point of the whole post.
