Freedom Mini GPS with googlemaps and Treo 750
I've loaded googlemaps on the Treo, and have purchased a Freedom Mini GPS receiver to go with it.
But I CAN'T work out how to do the settings to make the thing work! No idea what COM ports, etc should be selected, etc. Anybody have better luck? Anyone who can talk me through the proper set-up? Most grateful if somebody could.

honestly for what a gps reciever costs, you can buy a TomTom for the same money and it works better.

I used to be a blckberry user. Now that i have a treo i see what i was missing.

Keep in mind I have the cingular GPS reciever and windows mobile live but in theory they should work the same.
(First this is a noob statement, and as an IT guy I dont like - BUT - consult the literature that you should have recived with your BTGPS.)
On Start - Settings - Connections -Bluetooth
Under Devices find your BTGPS type in the passkey (0000)
New Incoming Port (typically COM0)**
(Do the Same with the Outgoing Port)**
**This allows the GPS phone to talk with the gps so it can find satelites
**THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE USING YOUR BTGPS ON MAP SOFTWARE ;-)
Make sure on your Software side (googlemaps, Live search etc) that you have BTGPS enabled.
HOPE THIS HELPS
