gmail software - Treo Forums

I'm new here....just bought the 750 today. My first departure from Nokia in 10 years.
How do I install the gmail software? Google says I need Java, and I tried installing that but couldn't get the file to open.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

welcome to ET the palm article about java are for palm os devices and do not include as of now support for even the 680 so I am not sure whether thge 750 is supported yet either. There is supposed to be a developers conference with palm in February so I suspect is forthcoming. I think that some people have been able to get the IBM micro java going on the 680 but I'm not sure. I will keep searching and get back with you.

My next question....is there a way for the phone to display missed calls on the today screen?
When I am not near the phone, I find that I have to go to the call log to see if I missed any calls.

There should be because the screen that they show on most pictures and on the WM phones at the cingular stores showe on the today screen the number of missed calls or are wanting the actual phone numbers of the calls missed to dial from the today screen? I am notr sure whether you\ can dial calls from the today screen. Have you looked in your manual or users guide? Or looked or the palm site?

I figured it out. Duh! There is an icon at the top of the screen for missed calls.

Over all I am happy with it and getting used to it. I do with it had more programability to the soft keys. Some functions require too many tasks. Some things just seem left out....like being able to add a phone number from an incoming text message to a exsisting contact.

Thanks for the reply and keep me updated as you get more knowledgable and comfortable with it. Still looking at it as a possible replacement for the trusty 650.

i HAVE JUST BOUGHT THE 750 WITH VODAFONE ITALY. ITS GOOD. i AGREE THE JAVE THING NEEDS SORTED. I ALSO TRIED TO LOAD GOGGLE MAPS AND GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE.

NOT SURE WHY THEY DONT HAVE WIFI SO THAT YOU CAN USE SKYPE FOR MOBILE?

probably the wifi radio size and cost concerns bouth in production and lost revenue for Cingular Vodaphone maybe
