PM somebody who got the update you want and see if they can get you the link to get it.

Is anyone interested in taking over providing the unbranded files? I am dying to get this AT&T bloat off of my shiny new phone! If someone can get me the files I can host as well.

I'm afraid something has happened to TrueLuck. He hasn't responded here or to emails in nearly two weeks. Seems out of character for how enthusiastic and giving he was with this at the beginning. I hope that all is well with him.

Is anyone who received these files willing to share them? As with TrueLuck, I wouldn't hold anyone responsible for what happens if something goes wrong. It would be purely my problem. But that is a chance I'm willing to take to get rid of the AT&T crap.

there is a way to get the bloatware off the treo but it likme everything else can brick your treo if not done right. heres a thread on xda-developers.com about doing it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=349481&page=2 look at this page and others in the thread if you have questions sign into the forum and pm some of the guys they will probably be able to help you as well.

There is more to it than just removing the extra software. Not being able to tether appears to be a big problem for a lot of users requesting the unbranded ROM.

I believe that doing those changes will restore the ability to tether. I think I read it somewhere in the thread of the xda developers forum. But I could be wrong.

I'm running True's unbranded rom on my Cingular Treo and tethering works great with the standard data plan.

BTW, for anyone who's still running WM5 or the leaked WM6, this update fixes battery life in a HUGE way, even in 3G.
