got the unbranded WM running smoothly using an XP machine and the index.hta method. now if only the correct unlock code arrives (ordered from unlockitnow.com) arrives i will be fine.

Remember:

1. This update is working great for me, but that may not be the case for everyone.
2. As I stated in the post, this is the actual NBH file from Palm's unbranded WM6 update. All I did was rename it to the correct file name for the miniSD card. I didn't modify the binary at all, it's exactly as Palm distributed it for the unbranded, only now you use the built in boot loader to update, not the USB cable and setup wizard (which is a real pain in the ass)
3. Please post any questions you have, as I will assistance everyone to the best of my ability.

Now...Enjoy the update you deserve!

Instructions:

1. Grab your miniSD card (yeah, you need one of those now, at least 100MB will do)
2. Format it using your PC to FAT32 with default allocation (this is how I did it, I've read about people using the handheld and various software, so....)
3. Copy the NBG file to the card (once its' formatted you can copy using your PC, inserting the card and using infrared or Bluetooth, the USB cable, etc.)
- Remember to copy the file to the root directory of the card, and I think it has to be the only file on the card (in my experience)
4. With the card inserted into the Treo, push the reset pin while holding the side / PTT button (under the volume control)
5. Continue holding the side / PTT button until the screen displays the prompt to start the update
6. Press the (red) power button to start the update

The update will complete and the phone will initialize and go through the familiar startup prompts.

Hello I would greatly appreciate the unbranded rom link. My email is matt_66077@yahoo.com I have a cingular unlocked 750 with the official wm6 update. I am running on the old cellular one sim and i found when I have no signal I can take out my sim put a at&t sim in and get a full signal. i have had two 650s one i unlocked and one came unlocked and i never had this problem before. i would appreciate any assistance with this and the unbranded link

Besides, we'll need his talents again when WM 6.1 comes out. ;)

I couldn't even get the official branded updater to work correctly. It kept kicking me off the update upon initializing with a message that said it was recommended that I be an administrator to update. Well, I am have admin rights on my computer and even created a new profile with admin rights but still no luck. I can't believe I was even willing to update to something that "tethered" my wallet to AT&T for another $20/month to use internet access from my laptop I'm already paying for. Could you please send the unbranded updater for a AT&T branded 750 to hawk_driver60@hotmail.com. Thanks a bunch!!! Hopefully it'll work this time.
