Got the new unbranded ROM ready for miniSD

I have AT&T 750 with their Mobile 6, what would be the advantage for me to install this version?

It doesn't have all the AT&T crapware.

Also, the download page for the AT&T WM6 update states that you must have a "tether" data plan to use Internet Connection Sharing. While they have apparently not enforced that rule yet, there is most likely something in the AT&T ROM that would enable them to deny that service to those without tether plans.

The unbranded ROM is non carrier specific and has no such restrictions.

Cool, will this also make it unlocked to be used with other carriers?

No. Unlocking status is independent of and unaffected by the particular ROM you have loaded.

If you've been with your carrier for a while you can usually get them to provide an unlock code for your phone. Then you just insert a different carrier's sim, boot up, and key in the unlock code when prompted.

There are also unlocking services that will either provide a code or you can send your device to them to unlock for a small fee.

Well it did not work, I got following message,

"Unsupported Device Update"

Any Ideas? This was with USB cable, do I have to do SD update?

Do you have a 750 or a 750v? I don't think this ROM will load on the 750v.

edit: Oh yeah, check your branding too as per the ReadMe file.

It's a AT&T so it should be a 750

TREO750-2.25-ATT

So should I change from CNG to ATT in payloads.xml?

Yes. It should match whatever follows your software version. So if yours says "TREO750-2.25-ATT" then change the carrier code to ATT.

I just bought a Unlocked Cingular 750 on a T-mobile network and want to upgrade to the wm6 unbranded. Can someone point me in the right direction?
