Okay, I just sent out a slew of emails to people requesting the update. I gave everyone the link to the wizard .zip file. If anyone has problems with that I can send them the bootloader file.

I’ll make another post that organizes the install instructions a lot better, but realize that this post has everything you need if you read the posts from the beginning.

Especially HP3’s post on the 2nd page. He makes an extremely important point that I tried to let people know earlier.

Make sure you’re PC is loaded with all the Treo drivers first (specifically the bootloader drivers), and then run the setup wizard.

Most people already have the standard Treo drivers installed, but listen up!

With your Treo 750 connected to the PC via the USB cable:
    - Remove any miniSD card you may have inserted
    - While holding the PTT / Side button, push the reset pin (under the miniSD card door)
    - Allow the phone to load the bootloader into USB mode (you’ll see the text: ‘USB’ on the bottom of the screen)
    - Wait for Windows to successfully install the new drivers
    - Go into device manager and check to make sure you don’t have the Treo stuck in an Unknown Device state, if that’s the case you’ll need to double click the device and then click update drivers and allow Windows to install the drivers automatically (searching Windows update allowed)
    - Once you are certain the drivers are ready to go, boot your phone back into a normal state and run the setup wizard

    Some new tidbits:
I just ran into an incident where one of the users had a Cingular branded version of the 750. If you are someone who has the Cingular branded Treo 750, you’ll need a different moded version of the setup wizard. Please repost stating that you are a Cingular brand user if you’ve already got the link for the original wizard.zip file.
The instructions are the same and the new file is named wizard-CNG.zip

    Question:
Anyone think we'll see the AT&T release of the update before Christmas? Before New Years?
    Question:
Will anyone actually move to the AT&T branded version with all the useless added weight of the extra marketing apps?
When still had WM5-AT&T, I was using my $20/month unlimited data plan, which only allows the PDA to connect unlimited, when I tried to connect my laptop via Bluetooth it wouldn’t let me get any data packets through. With the new unbranded WM6 ROM, using Internet Connection Sharing (via Bluetooth PAN) I can now use my laptop with my current $20 unlimited plan (no need to upgrade to the $40 laptop connect plan) and I get HSDPA speeds (here in NYC)!
Did I just answer my own question?

Ho, ho, ho! Merry Christmas! Come one come all!

So I’ve been dishing out AT&T and Cingular updates all day and I’d love to hear from everyone on the post about their triumphs and failures, how they got the update to work if it didn’t at first…all that good stuff.

    Good luck to all!
