Default Having problems unlocking treo for upcoming trip

Hi, I'm wondering if someone can help me.

I have a treo 750 and I got an unlock code from AT&T and in their e-mail it said I have 5 tried to get it unlocked. They said I need to insert a different sim.

So I have an old sim from Russia which prob. no longer works but I figured I would try, so I put it in and it immediately said that I have only 3 tries (not five) so I tried once and it didn't work (could be I Forgot pressing the shift.) then I called at&t they said to try again I did and again it said invalid code...

So I'm down to my last try, not sure what to do.

One representative claimed I needed a valid simcard (not at&t) a different rep said I need to be outside of the US to do it so the local antennas don't catch me (BS I think)... Any ideas what I can do? is there any way to reset this code counter so I can try again? would a hard reset do anything?

I called twice and confirmed the IMEI with them and they say the code is valid.........

Thanks so much
