Default HELP - Installing Now - Is it stuck??

I posted this at the end of TrueLuck's thread, but DOn't know if I'll get a reply soon enough. I think I'm a little stuck and need instructions from those who have done it successfully.
I followed Trueluck's instructions - Format SD Card --> Copy File --> Insert into Treo --> Press Side/PTT+Reset --> Press Red Power Button to Start.

It's been almost 20min since the Update Success Message appeared on the Treo.

HELP - Installing Now - Is it stuck??
I'm installing it now using the SD card method.

It's taken 9 minutes to run thru the list of items on the screen that it updates and the message on the bottom of the screen says, "Update Complete. UPDATE SUCCESS".

It's been 5 minutes now and the Treo hasn't initialized itself.

Am I supposed to do something to initialize it or is it supposed to do it itself and how long does that take to do it on it's own?

I don't want to touch anything for fear of bricking

OK. Couldn't wait for any replies so I took a chance and did a soft reset. The sucker rebooted into WM6 and started the initialization process. So far, so excellent!!!

Just been customizing the interface. I can't figure out how to get rid of the line item on the TODAY screen just above the speed dial buttons. It's the one with a little guy icon on the left and a space to type in a name or number. Been thru all the settings and just can't seem to figure out where to uncheck it so it doesn't appear. I had it OFF in WM5.

First thing that I do like is that Bluetooth Activesync literally took less than 5min to set up. When I first set it up in WM5 for bluetooth, it literally took 12 hours to figure out.

You probably don't want to get rid of the contact search. Just start typing a name and it will immediately start listing all possible matches from your address book. The more letters you type, the more the search narrows.

I can usually call any one of the couple hundred people in my address book by typing 3 to 4 letters and arrowing down to the number I want. Next best thing to total hands free dialing via Voice Command.

I finally found out how to remove it from my Today screen. It isn't actually "uninstalled", just hidden from the Today screen. It is a preference setting that gets unchecked. You go to the Menu on the lower right of the Today screen --> Preferences --> Check ON "Hide Lookup Field".

It works exactly the same if it appeared on the Today screen. I just start typing a name or start dialing a number and it will reappear with the list of available options. When it appears on the screen, I really don't like having the scroll bar on the screen and have to scroll down to see my appts. The lookup just takes up a line on the screen and pushes my notification lines off the screen.

it's just a personal preference thing.

Cool. Didn't know it would still work while hidden. Good to know.

Dude, you've got problems...
Maybe you can press the reset button and it will fix itself.

You think ATT found us out and is getting us back by screwing with our IP's to prevent us from getting on ET??

Just kidding... Hope you get it fixed!!!
