Default Help: unable to install programs onmy new 750

    Dear friends
    My first post, please help.

I got an unlocked Cingular 750 off ebay, and i bought a filiaomobile.com NIV study bible for WM5 OS PDA software.
The phone works fine, but I cannot install this software. It says that the software doesn't come from a trust site or does not have a certificate???
    Please help

    Thanks
    Pete

welcome to ET petethe rock. I am not familar with filiamobile.com I use Laridian pocketbible products and had no problems with the installation. Is the filiaomobile bible software on your desktop now. ? You have tried to install by running the program and it tells you its not from a trsuted site. It should ask you if you want to open or install and just tell it yes and then it should give you the option to install on an expansion card if you have one or in the main memory of the 750.

I found filaomobile.com and looked up the zondervan niv program it does not show that the 750 is a supported device. Contact Zondervan who made the software and se if they can talk you through the install or get your money back from filaomobile and get laridian reader and NIV study bibkle with notes. I really like it. It should install as per my earlier psost. Good luck

    Thanks!
This is coming from a Palm 650 / 600 user, so should I install onto the desktop first, then onto the palm?
Maybe I got the sequence wrong?

Ok weird thing, I try it again, and now the message still says non trusted site, but allows me to choose, so I do and viola!
Main difference I assume is I plugged in the Treo after beginning the installation.
Regarding the program, its stuck on 2 screens (bible and search), how do I get rid of the search, the help menu isn't v useful, my palm OS version was a lot more intuitive

I would try a soft reset and see if the program then works. It should I have found with the 750 when installing the program to the device that its best to have the device hooked up with the computer and to the device in the programs menu because with the 750 it comes up and says check the dialogue box on the device if you need to do anything else and if youre no9t there already (say on the today screen instead you cant tell it what to and it wont install What its asking is do you want to install on device or storage card. It did that whwen i was installing pocket bible udate. That little trick has saved a bunch of time several times now.

    Thanks again
I got the program to work, but I realised the WM 5 versoin isn't like the palm version, ie there is no study Bible, just a NIV Bible and a study note, sigh....
    At least it works

well I have used Laridian products for a long time started with mybible on palm IIIc then pocket bible on Casio E-200 and HP journada 567 then my bible on 600 and then 650 and now back to pocket bible on the 750. I have been very very siatisfied with pocket bible. Go to Laridian.com and download the trial its not very expensive but the trial is free. I'd have to say that I love the program I use it daily and during sunday school and in church to follow along with the scripture lessons. Its easy to take notes and highlight text.

    Latest in my saga:
The installation actually didn't go well!
My bible only has 10 verses in each chapter!
Emabarassing way to find out whilst reading at Easter service!
