help with treo - Treo Forums

hi people,

just got a treo today and its my first smart phone so need some help. i have installed the emulator scummvm but to run the application i have to go all the way into the file explorer and find the icon in there. is there anyway of making a shortcut so the application icon is in the programs or games folder?

when it installed the emulator did it install on the device or your expansion card? If its on your device you should be able to highlight and hit the right action key and move it to the desired location. You may even be able to put in on the today screen. Welcome to ET

Im also trying to install windows live messenger, i have tried a couple of versions but they dont install, one said its not a pocket pc application even though it was, and the other just said unable to complete install, you dont know why this is do you?

You need to make sure you are not trying to install a smartphone (no touch screen) application. It either wont install or won't work. I have found in installing applications via active sync that it helps to be in the programs page when installing because if I am not when it says to check the device to see if other action is needed if I am not already there the dialogue box that tells me what else needs to be done closes before I have a chance to do anything. Ususally it wants yto mknbow if the app should be on the card or the device and if you dont or cant tell it it wont install the app either place.

Otherwise are you installing to desktop and then As to the device or directly to the device? That may make a difference as well.

ah yes i have managed to install it now thanks for that, one more question, i installed doom but it didnt work properly so i uninstalled it but the icons are still in the programs folder, it installed to the mem card but i cant find the files anywhere do delete them, any idea where they are?

I have no knowledge of doom. Did you use the uninstall programs on the treo or some other uninstall. Did you uninstall the program on the desktop ? Can you not just highlight the icon and tap menu to get a delete option?

i used the uninstall thing but it said it could not be deleted properly, i installed it onto my mem card but cant find the files, but it has put an icon in my start menu
