Default How DO I MAKE THIS WORK>?

I have a Treo 750 with the new Windows Mobile 6 and I bought an adapter to go with my auxilary plug in my truck.

I've been trying to use windows media player to play through my Aux input through my stereo and can't seem to make anything work.

I called at&t and it took them 45min for them to tell me I can't do it, but I figure my fellow tech heads such as yourselves have either found a way or just know some real answers.

The lady sounded like she was reading from a flippin book so I just couldn't trust her.

Ladies and Gentlemen, shine some light please.

does your truck stereo has audio input port? The treo has an audio output. It should also be connected to an audio input port. Just my opinion...

I have an adapter that connects to a larger plug. The port says Aux, so yes? It works with all mp3 players.

you need an adapter available from Palm or RadioShack that converts your 2.5mm (sub-mini) headphone/microphone jack into a 3.5mm
(mini) headphone jack. the part is about $5. One word of caution, I had one for my old motorola phone, and it must have been wireed differently internally. The ones that work for motorola phones do not work for palm. You see you are taking the 2.5mm 4 conductor jack (remember it has a consuctor for the microphone) and converting it to a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. Once you get it to that standard, you can use any run of the mill ear pods (like for ipods) or a wire (also avail from radioshack) to run from your now 3.5mm jack to the, no doubt, rca aux inputs in your truck.

no probs. sounds like you got the motorola adapter. radio shack sells both. best to ask the salesfolk if you can try right there. bring a set of 3.5mm ear buds. if they work (both channels) then you have the right adapter.

I have been doing the same thing with the wifes' truck.
I tried to duplicate this procedure on the home stereo.
I'm coming out of the Treo with a 2.5mm adapter to 3.5mm adapter that goes onto a RCA type jack that splits into 2 cords and then goes into the "Phono" inputs on the stereo. I think there are too many connections involved and after reading this I realize that I am using very old adapters and that is probably the "glitch" I have been experiencing.
Back to Radio Shack for "new" stuff soon..........
