How to install programs on my Treo - Treo Forums

Hi everyone!

I am new here and have such a pressing question.

I downloaded for example, Magic Button from the site. It is on my desktop and when I click on the files it is in a weird format. How do I install things such as programs , and so on, on my Treo 750? I hope it's not too stupid of a question. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get to enjoying my new phone!

welcome to ET there are two basic ways to add programs onto your 750 you can download them directly to the treo or you can download them to your desktop/laptop and then active sync them to your device. Read the user guide section about third party programs and downloading programs for detailed information. Files in .cab format download directly to the device others have to go to your computer and then to the device via AS read on page 190

If I might suggest I found it most helpful to read through the user guide and familarize myself with the basics. I prinyed out the user guide since palm decided not to include the user guide in printed form like the 650 had.

Thanks so much! I found the manual on my software CD. Such a pain in the butt having to read it on the computer...but..oh well right!

Yes I printed it out and put it in a three ring binder. To me its easier than trying to read on the monitor. Now if I had a 27" monitor that would be a different story.
