Thanks for responding. Honestly, I don't remember because it's been since May, but I think it was a problem them because I thought at the time that Vista was a total waste of time and money.
When the device shows up at all on the task manager, it shows not as a Portable Storage device, which is the setting that has worked on rare occassions, but as "other device", asks to search for the driver, doesn't find it and here we go again. I have screen shots in a Word doc if anyone wants to look at them, just email me. (

I've closed Outlook and it's still not showing as connected. Palm folks keep wanting to focus on the connection settings, which is a moot point if my laptop doesn't show it as connected. They sent me to the phone support and after 45 minutes I got disconnected w/o speaking to a rep.
All suggestions welcomed.

When plugged into usb should be visable in my computer if installed correctly.
Make sure that when you try to sync with outlook that you go to Task Manager and make sure that outlook is not running in the background. If it is running in the background you will not be able to sync. Outlook 2007 does not shutdown correctly some times. |
