    Default Install Palm OS

I have a Treo that came with the Windows OS. I have no need to surf the web. I just need phone and corporate Outlook email. I would like to install the Palm OS because it does not run the battery life down as much. I can't seem to find the instructions as to how to do so.

Anyone help me with how to instal the Palm OS instead of Windows?

    Thanks.

welcome peaces. Unfortunately bad news the wmos is the basis odf the phone. You cant uninstall wm and install palm os. If you want a 750 type device with palm os the closest thing with gprs would be the 680 or the 755 with sprint verizon or alltel. You could sell your device and use the funds to buy one of those.

Thanks for the help. I had already bought a Centro to replace the Treo but hoping my wife could use the Treo. I sure would be open to any recommendations for settl=ing changes that would turn off any unused system items that drain the battery.

An application such as Power Hero (http://www.hobbyistsoftware.com/power-hero-more.php) might be of interest to you. The biggest power users: the speaker and the backlight AND email/texting.

Keep in mind that the battery drain is not as bad as it appears. The 750 comes with a 1200mah battery stock (less capacity than most other Treo batteries) so even light use drains it quickly.

You can get up to a 1600mah to fit under the stock cover. Anything larger will come with a new rear cover to accomodate the larger battery. I know they make a 2400 and I think they also recently released a 3600 for the 750.

I am hoping that they will eventually release a 200 mah battery that fits in the same space.
