Internet connection for checking e-mail
Hi,
Just got a Palm Treo 750 yesterday and I'm trying to figure it all out. I have my work e-mail set up through Outlook so when I go to check my e-mail and press send/receive, it often says it's not connected to the internet because it'll only connect when a program requires it to. Is there a way I can always have it connected? It also mentions to change the internet settings and make sure the flight mode is off - can't find where to change the flight mode.
Thanks in advance.

welcome to ET csebert. Good to have you here. You can keep the internet on all the time by connecting to the internet and never closing the connection. It would stay on all the time. Thats fine as long as you have an unlimited data plan. Are you on a MS exchange server at the office where you have corporate push mail? If so check with your IT people about your settings.

I have an unlimited data plan for my first 3 months and then after that I'll pick a data plan that will suit my needs based on how much I actually use in these next few months. I am on the server at work but don't know if I'm using push mail or not?? I guess I'll call the IT people like you suggested..

If they are using Exchange 2003 or better, you should be able to sync.
In activesync (on the device) you need to configure the server. It would be the same address you would use for OWA (Outlook Web Access) to check your mail from any internet browser. For instance, ours is something like http://exchange.mycompany.com. Then you just give it a username and password and you're done.
Check with your IT guys for your OWA address.
