I have a friend that works at Cingular, and heres what they told me to do.
DON'T order a PDA data plan. Go to Cingulars website. Go to services, look up their "MEDia Bundles". Pick one that works for you. CALL customer service and add it to your services. They don't check to see what kind of phone you have. These are excatly the same thing as their PDA data plans only cheaper.(Marketing) I have the MEDia Max 200 bundle. Unlimited data, video & 200 text for 19.99 a month. Unlimited PDA connect plan for the same price does not have video or text. make sure you order over the phone, not on the website.

I totally agree with you, but now that i did the mistake of telling them what cell i have! everytime i have tried doing what you did.. they tell me that the media will not work with my pda... so now i have to call them back and tell them that I went back to my rzr so they will allow me to get the media pkage! then again i'm waiting until i get my iphone!

Keep trying. You'll get someone that'll do it. Trust me. I can't tell you how I many stories I've heard about the efficiency off the 1st fier Cingular Customer Service.

Hey guys,

Finally got it!!!!!! I called cingular (611) just like seeker suggested... got this guy on the phone that i think was his first day at work! got the 1500 txs with ulimited internet access for 29.99(media pkg) not once did he asked me what cell i had........ i had 1500 tx for 9.99 so it's a 20.00 different of what i was paying for just tx!!

After they told me that media pkg would not work with a treo!!

Yea don't tell them!! the only way i would tell them what phone i have is to get it unlocked. i have a blackjack on my account and use a treo but never tell them that so i don't get forced to use a 40.00 pda connect rather than having the 19.99 smart phone connect. but seeing seekers post i wonder now if i should drop my smart phone connect also. i have unlimited to any carrier texting plan. 19.99 plane include video pics and texts.

Yes I have experienced this even when using a Motorola RZR phone. Just tell them you want the Media Net Max 200 for 19.99. They tried to get me on the $69.99 and I didn't even have a PDA at that time.

No matter what they say, just tell them to add that on your phone. If you can't the rep to do it, don't worry, just dial 611 again and find someone else.

You can tell them you have a new phone or switched to your old phone if they insist on getting your treo serial number/IMEI.
