Its cost additional money right? So $157 a month isnt enough for them, they are going to charge me more to use the internet (I already pay for) on my laptop?

Such a turn off, I will cancel after my subscription if this in fact is true.
Can someone confirm?

If you're talking about ATT, then yes, they are charging more for data plans that include tethering (using Internet Sharing). Those plans are also not unlimited. Tether plans have a 5GB monthly cap.

However, from what I've heard from other users is that they can still tether with no issues on the standard plan. Who know when it might change.

The easy way around that is to load the unbranded rom on your treo. It won't have the ATT tethering restrictions.

You are correct, it is ATT. Can you give me some info on this non branded rom and how I might obtain/install it?

I know I should SEARCH, but it seems you know the route I must take.

Its funny, I tried the tethering one night for about an hour and never got charged....I assume I shouldnt take that case as the norm for the future?

As long as you have an unlimited data plan, and don't use excessive amounts of data, you should be fine.

Tether plans have a 5GB monthly cap. Go over that with a standard data plan and it's a good bet ATT will flag your account.
