Arrow Just got a 750, couple o' questions and some thoughts

Hi there,

First I'll share my story and some thoughts....I have an ATT/Cingular Treo 750 and have had it now for maybe a week. I found out i could get WiFi with the use of the spectec card. Well i ordered one and got it today, hooked it up only to be fighting with the it for an hour and half trying to get it to connect to my WPA Wireless network. I had to hard reboot the device twice because of a crash and to finally get it working i had to disable encryption on the network in order for it to connect. Even then it seems to destabilize the Windows Mobile operating system to the point to where it needs a reset in order for me to get connectivity back. I feel like I've wasted my money. Not only is it unstable and unreliable to say the least, but the reception is HORRIBLE. If i literally walk into the next room from my wireless router the connection drops, and it will keep trying to reconnect until eventually i have to pull the card out before it locks up and crashes. Overall i don't really care for WM, it may be easy to use but it simply isn't reliable.

Wow what a ramble...

As far as questions go....id like to know if anyone has tried booting Linux on this thing yet? I know its possible...see here ->http://mytreo.net/archives/2007/08/l...lable-now.html

Or is WM6 a good fix for these issues? And if so will it work with an ATT/Cingular model (i have no idea if its locked/unlocked how do you tell?)

Thanks in advance....

-Joe
